Tennis superstar Roger Federer has said that meeting with Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar during the 2011 Wimbledon at All England Club in London was memorable and worth cherishing.

 

Federer in an online interaction with fans, called the ‘Nike Tennis Facebook live chat’ said he was an avid cricket fan and was honoured to meet the Indian batting legend in London.

 

The two were believed to spend time at the All England Club balcony and had taken dinner together.

 

Impressed by 16-time Grand Slam champion Federer’s knowledge about cricket, Tendulkar later admitted that Federer knew a lot about cricket and he came across as a humble guy.

The World No. 3 tennis player Federer was quoted in Live Tennis Guide as saying that his mother Lynette Durand and his two Australian coaches were responsible for his interest and teaching him the nuances of cricket. Federer also added that he loves playing cricket in spare time with his friends in Basel.
