Michael Clarke bows out in style, emulates Imran Khan at ICC Cricket World Cup 2015

As Australia lifted ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 following their 7-wicket victory over New Zealand at the final at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Michael Clarke bowed out of One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Of men who had bowed out following a World Cup cricket final, Imran Khan and Rohan Kanhai are the others to score fifties. Clarke also became the second after Imran (in 1992, also at MCG) to finish his ODI career as a victorious World Cup captain. Clarke also registered the joint second-highest score by an Australian in his last ODI. The record still remains with Bruce Laird (91 against Pakistan, 1982-83), but Clarke has finished on par with Trevor Laughlin (74 against England, 1979-80).
