Nottinghamshire’s Michael Lumb and Riki Wessels tore into hapless Northamptonshire attack in North Group of Royal London One-Day Cup at Trent Bridge on Monday. Thanks to an outstanding 342-run opening stand between Lumb and Wessels, Nottinghamshire piled up 445 for 8 — the second-highest score in List A history. Riki, son of former Australian Test cricketer and South African captain Kepler Wessels, went first, for a phenomenal 97-ball 146 with 14 fours and 8 sixes. Lumb went next, for a 150-ball 184 that included 21 fours and 6 sixes.
