Pakistani Test and One-Day International (ODI) captain Misbah-ul Haq has urged his team to improve their bowling and fielding skills, although he hailed the batsmen for their performance during his side’s hard-fought 11-run win over Sri Lanka in the first day-night international in Sharjah on Wednesday.

Pakistan was lifted by a return-to-form 122 by Mohammad Hafeez and 73 by Sohaib Maqsood as well as debutant opener Sharjeel Khan’s 61. According to the Express Tribune, Misbah said that his team had put up a good show in batting with Hafeez leading the way, although he admitted that they need to improve their bowling and fielding in the next games.

The remaining matches would be played in Sharjah on Sunday followed by two games in Abu Dhabi next Wednesday and Friday, the report added.
