Australian pace sensation Mitchell Johnson, who was awarded the ”Man of the Series” title, has reportedly promised to shave off his menacing moustache, which he had dyed pink, following his team’s 5-0 Ashes clean sweep. Thousands of fans turned up at the Sydney Opera House to celebrate Australia’s Ashes whitewash with the hosts’ dominance over England meaning that they wrapped up the fifth and final Test match at SCG under three days.

According to News.com.au, Johnson has thanked the Australian cricketing public for their support throughout the Ashes campaign and said that he will be shaving off his menacing moustache, but soon added that he plans to grow it back for the South Africa trip. Johnson further said that all-rounder and teammate Shane Watson has told him to keep the moustache as it is his trademark now, adding that although he would grow it once again, he is going to stick to his commitment of shaving the moustache at the end of the series. The players will have a couple of days off before the limited-overs side regroups for the One-Day International (ODI) series against England starting on Sunday in Melbourne, the report added.
