Indian women’s skipper Mithali Raj posted a photo on Instagram, mischievously praising England’s Joe Root for posing like Shah Rukh Khan. Raj posted an image of Root, praising him for his effort to match the iconic pose of Shah Rukh Khan, which he performed in his film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Root is one of the best batsman around in cricket. He is ranked No.4 in Tests and T20Is, and No.10 in ODIs. The 25 year old has a career average of nearly 53 in Tests, 44 in ODIs and 40 in T20Is. Root is currently busy playing for England against Sri Lanka. He and his side beat the sub-continent side 2-0 in the Test series. Root scored a total of 87 runs in four innings, with his best score being 80. His lack of runs did not hamper his side, as they nearly missed out on a whitewash.
He has been a key player for England in all the formats over the past year or so. He was the leading run-scorer for his side in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, where England ended up as the finalists. His 249 runs were the third highest in the tournament, behind Tamim Iqbal and Virat Kohli.
England will play five ODIs and a T20I against Sri Lanka, before Pakistan tours them for another four Tests, five ODIs and a T20I. England have an opportunity to reach 2nd in ICC Test rankings if they manage to win three Tests against Pakistan.
