India Women have recorded their highest ever Twenty20 international (T20I) score in their match against Bangladesh Women of Women’s T20 World Cup 2016. They posted 163 for the loss of five wickets after being asked to bat first. 163 is India Women’s highest T20I score bettering their previous best of 151, which they made against the same opposition in Women’s World T20 2014. In that match too they lost five wickets. Mithali Raj and Vellaswami Vanitha scored 42 and 38 runs respectively in the current match in which India recorded their best T20I score. Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy made 40 and 36 in the middle-order. The contribution of these four batswomen helped India Women eclipse their previous best score of 151 by 12 runs. India Women’s third highest T20I score is against Sri Lanka Women. India Women posted 147 for the loss of three wickets in a T20I played in January, 2014. Currently, South Africa Women hold the world record for the highest T20I score. They made 205 for the loss of just one wicket against Netherlands Women way back in 2010 in ICC Women’s Cricket Twenty20 Challenge. West Indies Women are joint-second in the list along with Australia Women. Both these teams scored 191 for the loss of four wickets. West Indies Women posted 191 against Netherlands Women whereas Australia Women made it against Ireland Women. Australia Women have also scored 185 for the loss of five wickets against Pakistan Women in 2014. This is Australia Women’s third-highest T20I score.

If we talk of a good opposition then New Zealand Women with their 188 for 3 against Sri Lanka Women is the best. New Zealand Women have also posted 186 for 7 against South Africa Women. Australia Women with their 191 for 4 are third in the list of highest T20I innings total.
