Mohammad Nabi‘s brilliant bowling helped Afghansitan restrict Hong Kong at a mere 116 for 6 in Match 6, Group B, Round 1 of ICC World T20 2016 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur. Afghanistan are coming from a victory in their last match against Scotland while Hong Kong received a defeat in their last match against Zimbabwe. As Afghanistan look to seal the deal now with their huge and strong batting line up, it will not be easy for the Hong Kong bowlers to defend a low score as this in front of a fearless batting like the one Afghanistan has. Hong Kong went with their openers Jamie and Ryan Campbell who started decently. The duo added 43 runs but Rashid Khan came into the action providing Afghanistan their first breakthrough. Rashid dismissed a well-in-touch Campbell for 27. Atkinson continued but not for long as the star of the innings Mohammad Nabi removed him for 16. The most important turn of the innings was the dismissal of Babar Hayat. The most dependable batsman of the squad went for a 2-ball duck while Mark Chapman left for 8. An important innings was played by Anshuman Rath who scored 28 off 31 keeping the cool of his mind and remained unbeaten.
The show-stealers for the innings were the Afghanistan bowlers, specifically Mohammad Nabi. Nabi picked up all the important wickets, including the ones of Ryan Campbell and Babar Hayat and finished with 20 for 4 after his 4 overs with an economy of 5.00. Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib also picked up a wicket each.
