There is a fresh twist to the Mohammed Shami and wife Hasin Jahan controversy. Jahan posted an image of Shami’s driving license on Facebook, claiming his date of birth has been fudged. According to official cricket records, Shami’s date of birth is September 3, 1990. She reckons that the date is fake. According to the driving license image posted by her, Shami’s date of birth is May 5, 1982. This means the pacer will turn 36 next Sunday and is not 27 as per BCCI records.

According to Hasin, Shami had created fake birth certificate in order to earn a place in Bengal’s Under-22 team. Earlier this week, Hasin had accused Shami and his family of planning rape, murder and dumping her body in the forest. She equated her plight to the horrific Asifa case.
