Pakistan interim coach Mohsin Khan will continue as the head coach after their next month’s tour of Bangladesh.

“The PCB chairman has asked me to continue as coach for an indefinite period. I’ve agreed because coaching and selection are the areas where I have always felt I can serve my country really well,” Mohsin was quoted by the The Express Tribune.

Mohsin’s extension has been announced after former South Africa coach Mickey Arthur, who was believed to be a strong contender of the Pakistan coaching job, refused to take the responsibility.

Mohsin was announced Pakistan head coach after the surprise resignation of Waqar Younis before the Sri Lanka series.

Pakistan won the three-match Test series 1-0.

The PCB officials have confirmed Mohsin’s extension for the tour of Bangladesh as the coach-hunt needs more time.  And after a meeting between the PCB chairman and Mohsin, the former national selector was offered the role ‘for an indefinite period’.

“The chairman was delighted with the team’s performance and wants continuation of the progress,” said Mohsin.
