Hyderabad XI made 348 for five in 90 overs against Kerala, while Karnataka were 436 for six against HCA President XI on the inaugural day of the Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament on Thursday.
Hyderabad elected to bat first and put up a good score with the help of D B Ravi Teja’s 169 (244b, 17×4, 2×6).
N S Arjun Yadav made a valuable 86 with 10 fours.
Kerala’s Prashant Parmeshwaran took two wickets for 61 runs.
In another match, at the Gymkhana grounds, Karnataka made 436 for six against HCA President XI. Sunil Raju (158 not out) and Karun Nair (168) shone for the visitors. Amol Shinde of HCA President’s XI took four for 126.
In the match played at AOC Centre between Tamil Nadu and Services, M Kaushik Gandhi’s 129 and B Aparajith’s 113 helped the former score 378 for eight. Abhishek Sinha and Md Khalid claimed four wickets each.
At NFC grounds, Delhi DCA restricted Goa’s innings to 250 thanks to fine bowling by Pradeep Sangwan (3 for 63), C Nanda (2 for 42) and P Negi (2 for 57). Reagan Pinto made a valuable 74 runs. In reply, Delhi DCA made 49 for two at close.
The tournament was inaugurated by Brig. Naresh Kumar Mehta. Eight teams are participating in the event. (PTI)
