During the toss for the final One-Day International (ODI) between India and New Zealand, India’s limited-overs skipper, MS Dhoni, wore his mother’s name on his jersey (No. 7). For promoting Star Channel’s new advertisement on women empowerment, Dhoni long with Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have been seeing wearing their mother’s name on their jerseys in commercials and the skipper went a step ahead by wearing it in the 5th ODI. Looks like lady luck will be on Dhoni’s side today as he started the proceedings by winning the toss at Vishakhapattnam. He also spoke about the campaign and how important it is to appreciate mother’s role on his or her ward’s life. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs NewZealand, 5th ODI at Visakhapatnam
The jersey is designed especially for this game and is expected to bring out the best from the hosts’ side. India have won the toss and elected to bat. They will be expected to go hard against the Kiwis and pile on a big score. The series is interestingly poised at 2-2. The first game of the series, played at the picturesque location of Dharamsala, saw hosts India get across the line quite comfortably. The second match at the capital city Delhi though was a cliff-hanger and went down to the wire, with New Zealand winning it by six runs and registering their first win on the tour in the process. The third ODI was quite interesting one as India won it by seven wickets and it was very well architect by captain Dhoni, by coming up in the batting order and Virat Kohli as well. The fourth game at at Ranchi, where India lost by 19 runs while chasing 260.
