India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper-batsman in history of One-Day International cricket to lead the team in 150 matches. He is the second after Mohammad Azharuddin to lead India in 150 ODIs.
Azahruddin holds the Indian record of leading the team in 174 matches. Dhoni took charge in 2007 and in June this year, became the first captain in the history to win all three ICC global events.
He has led India to ICC World T20 in 2007, ICC World Cup in 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy victory in 2013.
Ricky Ponting leads the table of leading Australia for 230 ODIs.
In the 149 ODIs that Dhoni has lead India, he has won 87 and lost 50. Azharuddin till now is India’s most successful captain with 90 wins. Dhoni is second with 87 wins, followed by Ganguly with 66 wins.
