With MS Dhoni returning to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the excitement in the air is unfathomable. Indian Premier League 2018 is gearing up for its biggest season ever, with 1,122 players in the auction pool. Dhoni who was retained by CSK has revealed that quite a few franchises approached him ahead of retention deadline.
As reported by NDTV, Dhoni speaking at a event for India Cements said, “A lot of people approached me, I can tell you that. But, you know, I can’t think (of) not coming back to CSK.” Dhoni further opened up about his admiration towards CSK fans and the management. He said: “And as I said, it is because of everything – what we been through, how we have conducted ourselves, how the management has been, how the players have been, how the fans have been. I always keep saying, you know, it is like a second home to me. The fans have over here have literally adopted me, they accept me as their own. There can’t be a bigger compliment than that. This is a special place and that thought of being with any other franchise was never a question. So that was a very easy answer for me.”

Under Dhoni CSK have won 2 IPL titles and 2 Champions League T20 championship. After CSK was banned for 2-years, Dhoni was picked up by Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). Dhoni’s numbers in the IPL are impressive as he has scored 3,561 runs from 159 matches at 37.88 average. CSK also retained Suresh Raina, who had led Gujarat Lions (GL) twice, as well as will Ravindra Jadeja.
