It’s no secret that Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is the new Rajinikanth of the masses. Ever since the Saurashtra lad has come into the Indian side, he has been the butt of all internet jokes and has even received knighthood from fans and detractors, alike. Jadeja provided a crunching reply to his critics by being India’s second-highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded India–Australia, which the home team won by a 4-0 margin. However, the jokes have failed to subside and have actually seen a substantial rise, both in quality and quantity.
The latest to join the bandwagon in subscribing to the ‘Sir Ravindra Jadeja’ joke book is Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The 31-year-old isn’t really a social media enthusiast like some of his teammates, but has all of a sudden taken to Twitter on April 9 with a flurry of tweets about his India and Chennai Super Kings teammate. What started as a simple picture of Jadeja posing during a shoot for a commercial of a soft drink giant, the Indian captain soon got into the gags on Sir Jadeja and went to town with them, with some originals as well as re-tweeting those of his followers.
Here are some of the tweets that popped up on Dhoni’s Twitter handle (@msdhoni):

Now, while the whole thing could just be a clever marketing gimmick by one of their sponsors in a soon-to-release commercial, Dhoni sure gave his followers a pleasant surprise this morning with his tweets.
Will Jadeja reply? Stay tuned to find out.
