FORMER India captain MS Dhoni hoisted the national flag at his Ranchi farmhouse on the occasion of 77th Independence Day. A fan shared the clip of an Indian tri-color flying high on MS Dhoni’s house on 15th August.
The wicketkeeper-batter has been a great servant of the country on and off the field. MS Dhoni has served in the Indian Army and holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment. Dhoni has been awarded many sports honours as well, including Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna Award and civilian awards like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his outstanding achievements on a cricket field.
MS Dhoni is one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game. He is the only captain to win all three ICC limited-overs trophies, including the T20 World Cup, 50-Over World Cup and Champions Trophy. Dhoni also took India to No.1 in the ICC Test rankings.
MS Dhoni chose a special day to announce his retirement from cricket. Dhoni bid adieu to the game on 15th August 2020. “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” wrote Dhoni.
MS Dhoni is a fighter, like an Indian Army officer. He has shown his courage on and off the field on many occasions. Just like our army officers do not give up until the battle is won, Dhoni also keeps on trying till he gets the desired results. An example of that was seen in IPL 2023 when MS Dhoni played with a knee injury and led CSK to their fifth IPL title.
There were rumours that Dhoni might retire after IPL 2023 but the veteran confirmed that he will return to play in IPL 2024.
