MS Dhoni's Mahi Racing Team India at pole position

India’s first World Superbike team Mahi Racing Team India started off confidently at the qualifications of the second race of World Super Sport Championship campaign in Spain on Sunday.

Mahi Racing Team India is a FIM Supersport World Championship team founded by the captain of the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Kenan Sofuoglu claimed pole position while Fabien Foret finished third on the starting grid.

Sofuoglu, three time champion finished ahead of 34 riders clocking 2’01.450. Foret finished the race in 2’02.216 lagging behind Great Britain’s Sam Louis who finished second recording a timing of 2’01.610.
Mahi Racing started the season with a win when Sofuoglu won the first race in Philip Island, Australia earlier this year.

Arun Pandey, Chairman and Managing Director of the team was overwhelmed with the qualification performance and the overall performance of the new team.

“We have been able to main a consistency in the performance so far. Be it in the qualifiers or the main race, we are on top and that is a very positive sign and shows what the Team is capable of doing. I am sure we would be in contention for yet another podium finish on Sunday,” Pandey was quoted by NDTV.
