The Justice Mukul Mudgal panel that is looking into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing and betting controversy is said to have arranged a meeting on August 15 and 16 in Chennai. According to reports, the panel might file an interim report and has asked for an extension in the submission of a final report, which was supposed to be submitted on August 31, 2014.

Daily Post India reported that the committee has asked for the extension as they haven’t been able to conduct the interviews they planned. This committee wanted to question some members of the Indian team, which is currently in England. However, no member will travel to do the interviews. The report also mentioned that Sourav Ganguly, who had agreed to join the panel to provide his help, may not be attending the meet in Chennai.

This investigation could have its implications on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is slated to be held in September. N Srinivasan is keen on going for another stint as President but the investigations have to be complete before that.
