Defending champions of the Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2014 Mumbai Indians take on Lahore Lions in the second Qualifier match at raipur on Saturday.
Mumbai never looked like qualifying as they had started the IPL with five consecutive losses. But Lendl Simmons helped them resurrect the campaign and they got things back on track. They were fourth in the table and hence start off with the qualifiers. Meanwhile, their opponents won the Faysal Bank T20 beating Faisalabad Wolves.
Both teams have faced some challenges leading up to the tournament. MI are without their skipper and key batsman Rohit Sharma, who is out due to a finger injury. On the other hand, the Lahore need to quickly adapt to the conditions after suffering an endless wait and uncertainty over their participation.
Such has been the scheduling of the qualifiers that these matches don’t give any time to make errors.
Squads:
Mumbai Indians: Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Pragyan Ojha, Praveen Kumar, Aditya Tare (wk), Jalaj Saxena, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, Michael Hussey, Kieron Pollard (c), Corey Anderson, Lasith Malinga, Marchant de Lange, Lendl Simmons.
Lahore Lions: Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Siddique Khan, Mohammad Umar Akmal, Nasir Jamshed, Mohammad Salman Ali, Asif Raza, Mohammad Mustafa Iqbal, Wahab Riaz, Aizaz Cheema, Imran Ali, Saad Naseem, Adnan Rasool, Mohammad Saeed, Ali Manzoor.
