Scott Styris has been bowling brilliantly. He has already picked up three wickets and it includes the all important wicket of Lendl Simmons. He has been bowling straight and has given no room whatsoever to any batsmen. They are struggling at 45 for four after 10 overs. Ambati Rayudu and the Mumbai Indians skipper Kieron Pollard, have to bat really well in order to put a challenging total on the board. At the moment, the Northern Knights are right on top. Knights seamer Trent Boult started the proceedings for them. He bowled a tidy over right at the start to restrict the two openers of MI, Simmons and Mike Hussey. Tim Southee is sharing the new ball with Boult. Both the pacers are getting lateral movements off the deck. Bothe Boult and Southee are getting to swing the ball as well. It’s a good start for the Knights compared to MI.
Simmons and Hussey helped MI to register their first win of the qualifiers against the Southern Express (SE) in the last match. These two batsmen put on a solid opening partnership of 139 runs from just 88 balls as MI beat SE comprehensively by nine wickets.
With Lahore Lions defeating the Southern Express convincingly by 56 runs, Mumbai Indians have no choice but to win this match against the Knights. If MI lose then Lahore Lions will go through to the main stage along with the Northern Knights.
