The Indians will be confident at Lunch with a decent score of 178 for five (with two batsmen retired)  against Cricket Australia (CA) XI on Day Two of the first of the two two-day games at Adelaide.

India resumed on Day Two with the scorecard reading 55 for one after CA XI were bowled out for 219 on Day One. India had lost Shikhar Dhawan for 10, but Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara provided stability to the innings. Both men were unbeaten at the end of the day’s play, and came out all guns blazing in the morning session.

Vijay and Pujara dealt in boundaries, as the duo scored as many as 12 boundaries between them on the second morning. Coincidentally, both men got to their fifties with consecutive hits to the fence, and looked good for a lot more. However, due to time constraints in the match, they both retired immediately after reaching their landmarks in order to let the other batsmen have a hit.

Virat Kohli came out to bat at No. 4 and started aggressively, hitting a couple of boundaries early in his innings. However, new man Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for a single run, getting caught by wicketkeeper Ryan Carters off Sam Grimwade. Rohit Sharma came in at No. 6 and looked confident, stroking a couple of fours early on. Kohli and Rohit took India to 178 before Rohit was dismissed off what turned out to be the final ball before lunch. He was out LBW to Josh Lalor for 23. Kohli remained unbeaten on 36 at the break.
