Murali Vijay fined 25% of match fee for flounting logo on bat during one-off Test against Bangladesh

Murali Vijay made 150 during the match as India went on to draw the match.

India opener Murali Vijay has been fined 25 percent of his match fee by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after he was found guilty flouting logo regulations of his bat. “According to the new ICC rules, length of the sponsors’ logo can’t be more than nine inches. “Vijay was told that his bat didn’t conform to ICC rules and was penalised 25% of his match fees. He accepted the decision,” said the official. Vijay had scored 150 in Team India’s total of 462 for six in the first innings during the one-off Test at Fatullah. Due to multiple rain interruptions throughout the five days of the Test, the match ended in a draw. Vijay also put on 283 for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan. Vijay’s Bangladesh tour is over as he is not picked for the upcoming three One-Day International (ODI) series set to begin from June 19 at Mirpur.
