Mustafizur Rahman has been denied permission by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) from participating in the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) that is to start later this month. According to reports, the BCB made their decision on the pacer keeping his shoulder injury in mind. Mustafizur was picked by the Lahore Qalandars franchise, and was among the four Bangladeshi cricketers selected into the various franchises in the league — with Shakib al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (both Karachi Kings) and Tamim Iqbal (Peshawar Zalmi) being the others. While the rest got the No-Objection Certificate (NOC), Mustafizur was held back in order to get him fit for the Asia Cup 2016, as well as the ICC World Twenty20 2016, according to chairman of BCB media committee Jalal Yunus. I think whatever the decision the board (BCB) has taken is for my betterment. I need to get back my full fitness,” Mustafizur was quoted as saying according to a report on Cricwizz.com.

“At the moment I am much better. But you cannot determine where you stand unless you bowl in match conditions,” added Mustafizur, who has been the most prolific Bangladeshi pacer since making a sensational ODI debut against India last year. Mustafizur has had issues with his fitness in recent times, and was rested for the final two games of the four-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Zimbabwe, with the latter winning both games to level the series 2-2.
