India beat Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash at the Dubai International Stadium in UAE. Pakistan team had played slow throughout the match, and has managed to post a decent score of 241 runs before being bowled out in 49.4 overs.
Indian batting lineup was strong from the beginning, keeping the run-rate constantly over 5. Virat Kohli’s contribution was the most important in India’s victory, as he completed his century on the very last ball for the team winning the match. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer also made significant contributions, scoring 46 and 56 respectively.
When coming to the post-match interview, Virat Kohli shared how he felt when batting on the field. He added by saying how his job is about coming on the field and handle the middle overs against spinners. Kohli even said how be gives his all in every match, and God eventually gives the reward.
“To be honest, it feels good to be able to bat in that manner in an important game to seal qualification. Feels good to contribute in a game where we lost Rohit early, had to put in the understanding of what we learnt in the last game. My job was to control the middle overs against the spinners without taking too many risks, towards the end Shreyas accelerated and I got a few boundaries as well. It allowed me to play my usual ODI game,” Kohli said.
“My job is to stay in the present and do a job for the team. My keynotes to myself to put my 100% every ball in the field, and then God eventually rewards you,” he added.
