N Srinivasan has to deal with a further blow as the Supreme Court has said that he cannot take any charge in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Srinivasan was first told to step aside last month and Sunil Gavaskar came in his place as the interim chief of the BCCI for the Indian Premier League (IPL), 2014.

PTI reported Supreme Court as saying, “We cannot close our eyes after having come to know about the allegations.” NDTV reported that the court said that Srinivasan cannot take charge as he has been named in the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal’s report.

At the same time, the Supreme Court has asked the BCCI to investigate into the allegations made by Mudgal committee against the 13 people named.

Last month, the Supreme Court had recommended the expulsion of the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals before allowing them to play in the IPL. But then, they made Srinivasan step aside and even stated that a fair probe could not be conducted with him in power.
