N Srinivasan… In a fresh controversy? © IANS

N Srinivasan, the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman, finds himself in another controversy with allegations of spying being levelled against him. It is alleged that the former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president had hired a London-based firm to spy on some members of the board. According to a report by NDTV, Srinivasan allegedly used Rs 14 crore to hire the spying agency, who kept an eye on a few BCCI member’s phones and emails. It was also reported that the alleged money used was BCCI’s. The BCCI is now said to conduct an enquiry into this matter and find out the persons responsible for allowing that money to be spent. This news comes on the day when the BCCI ‘s Working Committee is meeting in Kolkata. The other issues that are being discussed are Chennai Super Kings’ Rs 5 lakh valuation, the new India coach and the Champions League T20 (CLT20). Srinivasan has been in controversy for some time. Earlier, he had to step away from the BCCI following the Supreme Court’s verdict.
