N Srinivasan is of the view that associates will have a ‘meaningful’ chance to qualify in the ICC World Cup 2019 which is proposed to be a 10-team affair. “In the next World Cup the top eight will qualify and the there will be a qualifying round for the top six associates and they will have a meaningful chance to qualify,” said Srinivasan. He acknowledged the stunning performance of the associates in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 citing Ireland’s victory over West Indies as an example. “On a given day the top associates are able to hold their own against the full members.
