N Srinivasan will be attending the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting on April 9 and 10 despite being under immense scrutiny after Supreme Court’s demand for the Indian cricket strongman to step down as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman, sources say.

Over the last two months the ICC passed a series of dossiers to revamp the structure of the game with a lot of them favouring Indian cricket and the board, read a Times of India report.

BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel confirmed the news, stating “As of today, I think that is the situation. I’ve not seen the order as yet. I will want to see it but I’m given to understand that Mr Srinivasan can attend the ICC meetings. It is an important decision for us as he is needed to be at the ICC meetings in the current situation,” Patel said.

The BCCI has also backed the Supreme Court’s decision to declare Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as innocent in the Mudgal Commission report, Patel addressed this issue stating, “It’s wrongly projected that Dhoni had lied before the Mudgal commission. It was not true and the air around the issue has been cleared by the court. We’re happy about it,”

Patel however said that Dhoni can continue to stay on as the vice-president of India Cements, “There are about 37 players; former and current, which includes former captain Rahul Dravid who are on the rolls of the company. These players have not been barred from being employed there”
