Narendra Modi wished former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu a speedy recovery after the latter was admitted to Delhi’s Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Tuesday evening with acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which caused a clot in his veins. The Indian prime minister tweeted, “Dear @sherryontopp ji, get well soon. You are a fighter & will overcome the illness in your trademark style. Our prayers are with you.” Before the cricketer-turned-commentator’s condition got stabled, the hospital released a statement saying that it is a life threatening condition if not treated on time. Sidhu himself later tweeted a picture from his official Twitter account saying, “Down but Not Out! Life threatening disease (DVT) With God ‘s Grace will recover. Life is Fragile, handle with Prayer.” READ: Navjot Singh Sidhu stable after suffering life-threatening disease
