Wife of former Australian fast bowler Nathan Bracken, Haley, and by extension a former WAG herself, has revealed some darker details about the circle of WAGs levelling it to a ‘Viper’s Nest.’ While to the audiences at grounds and television viewers the Wives and Girlfriends of cricketers paint a picture of cohesion, understanding, love and camaraderie, Bracken explains that the truth is quite the opposite. Haley explained that a lot of the animosity, that rarely bubbles out into public domain, stems from the fact that some female partners become insecure about their husbands future with the arrival of new players and tend to get cold with the new WAGs as a result. She blamed this animosity directly on Cricket Australia, who only recently settled a long standing legal dispute with Haley’s husband Nathan. “It was the snide remarks, the little quips, just the whole feeling of the place, because everyone was competing against each other,” she was quoted as saying by heraldsun.com.au. “Everyone has this misconception that the cricket team is so close and it is a brotherhood. Nothing could be further from the truth.’’

“There is this constant feeling of ‘Well, this person is going to take your spot’. That pressure creates a rivalry (with the partners),” Haley added.
