Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa are fighting for their place in Australia’s one-day setup. However, the two spinners share a good rapport with each other. Off-break bowler Lyon is happy to see leg-break bowler Zampa grow as a cricketer. Lyon added he and Zampa are very good friends, and he wishes that they help Australia win matches together.  Though in the long run Australia may settle with one spinner, the duo are expected to get a chance to bowl together. There is a high probability that the two spinners will get the chance to bowl together in the playing XI. Full Cricket Scorecard: West Indies vs Australia, 2nd ODI Match, Australia and South Africa in West Indies Tri-Series, 2016

Lyon was quoted by Cricbuzz saying, “It’s exciting to see him [Zampa] come through. He’s developing into a great spinner. He’s backed himself. He understands where his game is at. He trusts his spinning ability and he’s come along in leaps and bounds. We’re really good mates … I’ve known him for a few years now. Hopefully if we get the chance to play out there in the middle together, we can win a couple of games for Australia.” Tri-Series in West Indies: Australia may play 3 spinners

Meawhile, Australia captain Steven Smith said that Zampa is bowling extremely well at the moment, “He’s certainly come a long way over the last couple of years. He knows what he wants to do and reads the batsmen very well. His control has improved a lot as well. Hopefully we see him continue to progress.”
