Australian off spinner Nathan Lyon isn’t disappointed after not getting selected for the ICC World Twenty20 Championship at Sri Lanka.

Despite performing well in the Indian sub-continent, Lyon was left out of the 15 member squad. Xavier Doherty and Brad Hogg was selected for the limited over tournament.

“I have to keep improving and keep working hard. They (selectors) just said keep working and aspiring to play all three formats and that is definitely in my book,” Lyon was quoted as being said by Zee News website.

When compared to Ireland, whom Australia face in their tour opener, the side has less spin options.

Lyon’s exclusion from the side comes as a surprise, especially after the 24-year-old guided South Australia to the 2010-11 Big Bash League title.

“I can’t seem them making too many changes. Australia has a pretty strong squad. I know I have to come back and put the performances on the board with the Strikers and Redbacks if I want to be picked across three formats,” Lyon concluded.
