Going beyond the world of cricket, sports channel Neo Cricket would be re-branded as Neo Prime from Sunday as they plan to show multiple sports under the HD format.
The new all-sports channel will showcase HD ready sports content, NEO Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd announced in a release.
“We need to show multiple sports like football, tennis, badminton and hockey. Going beyond cricket is important as we no longer hold rights for showing live cricket matches,” Prasana Krishnan, COO of the company, said.
Neo Prime will have a healthy mix of live blockbuster action along with engaging and innovative programming. They already have another sports channel ? Neo Sports.
“With a surge in volume across multiple sports and reduce emphasis on live India Cricket – two all sports channel is the current need of the hour to show maximum sports content during prime time. This will ensure scheduling conflicts are addressed to maximise the network viewership,” Krishnan said.
With the availability of sporting content in HD, Neo Prime will gradually adopt itself to the new format, he said.
