Nepal have been eliminated after they were beaten comprehensively by seven wickets by Jersey at Dublin. Nepal had set Jersey a target of 106 to win after they just managed 105 for 8 in their 20 Overs. Debutant Sidhant Lohana top scored for Nepal with a 16-ball 27, which helped his side go past the 100-run mark. But Jersey, despite losing an early wicket on, Jersey looked in cruise control throughout the game and did not let the game slip though their hands and have therefore stayed alive in the competition and give themselves a real chance of making it through to the next round. Nepal went into the tournament having lost a 4-match T20I series 3-1 against Netherlands, but they had won the final T20I of the series and went to the ICC World T20 qualifier with some sort of momentum. But they only managed to register wins against United States of America (USA) and a match against Namibia got washed out and hence exit the tournament with just 3 points to their credit. Skipper Paras Khadka commended the way his team have progressed and has vowed to comeback stronger in the upcoming tournaments. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) then decided to help their neighbours out by offering them a ground to practice at Dharmasala. The entire team practiced there ahead of their tour to Netherlands.
