Roelof van der Merwe did some serious damage with his wily chipping by scalping two key wickets in the same over. He first got rid of Anil Mandal and then their skipper Paras  Khadka on two consecutive deliveries and was on a hat-trick. Nepal, after a great stumble, posted 94 runs in 38.1 overs on the board.

Netherlands gave no room for error in their run-chase as they got the ball rolling form the outset. They suffered an early blow when Michael Rippon had to walk back for the score of 6. Wesley Barresi was a sensation to watch as he dominated the Nepal bowling attack with his manic approach. He scored 37 off 33 deliveries before Basant Regmi shattered his stumps. Ben Cooper in an attempt to finish things early was also dismissed for six by Sagar Pun. Netherlands dominated the whole game and have gained immense confidence for the tournament.
