    Live: Netherlands 96/3 vs Nepal – Stephan Myburgh 33(41), Roelof van der Merwe 4(6)

    Netherlands have come out hard and won the game by seven wickets after a terrific bowling performance to dismantle Nepal for a mere score of 94. Nepal had a torrid time on the field as hey weren’t up to the mark. After a few hiccups, Netherlands eventually posted 96 after losing coupe of wickets in the end. Myburgh played a good hand with his 33 and stood his ground at one end. Nepal bowlers didn’t have enough runs on the board to battle for as a result of which the Netherlands’ batsmen looked to attack right from the outset of their innings.

    Netherlands need 25 more runs to register a fine victory with nine wickets i hand. Barresi has stuck to his guns and played a match-winning knock with Myburgh equally supporting at the other end. A victory for Nepal looks implausible.

    It’s Lunch and Netherlands are well-placed at 65 for the loss of one wicket. Nepal bowlers are struggling to chip a wicket and a victory is just 30 runs away for Netherlands. Barresi looked in a hurry and has taken on the Nepal bowlers.

    Netherlands not wasting any time whatsoever in chasing the target and are batting with immense confidence. Wesley Barresi looks set for a quick fifty and has ben scoring runs at a brisk pace.     Nepal have drawn the first blood in the form of Michael Rippon and need a much of it with the new ball. The ball is doing some movement but Netherlands have a good side and Barresi looks in good touch. The target is not at all challenging and Nepal will have to come up with some miraculous performance to contain Netherlands.

    Sompal Kami, Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane fell in quick successions as Nepal has been bundled out for 94 in 38.1 overs. Timm van der Gugten was the pick of the bowler with three scalps to his name along with Michael Rippon. Roelof van der Merwe also chipped in two wickets. Mudassar Bukhari picked a wicket so as Paul van Meekeren contributing with a wicket each. Netherlands now have an easy target and just need to stick to the basic to achieve it.

    Nepal are in hot water after losing two more wickets in the form of Sagar Pun and Raju Rijal in quick successions. Netherlands are dominating this game as half of the Nepal side are back in the pavilion at a mere score. Nepal have a mountain to climb ahead of them as Netherlands bowlers are looking in good rhythm. Nepal need a miraculous innings at the moment whereas Netherlands will look to clean up things as early as possible.

Greetings everyone! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live match coverage of the One-Day International (ODI) match between Netherlands and Nepal. This will be the 25th match of the ICC World Cricket League Championship. The match will be played at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen. Netherlands are currently placed at No.1 on the Points Table with 10 points from 6 games, having won four of them. Nepal are currently at the 6th position, having won just 2 games out of six. Its a must-win game for the Paras Khadka led-outfit to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the ICC World Cup 2019. It won’t be an easy game for them though. The match offers plenty of excitement as their will many key battles to watch out. Dutch opening batsman Stephan Myburgh has a good record against Nepal. The contest between Myburgh who is sure to the open the innings for Netherlands and Sompal Kami, will be exciting to watch. Eyes will also be on Nepal skipper Paras Khadka and how he leads his bunch.

Netherlands started their campaign on a good note as they registered easy wins over Papua New Guinea and the UAE in both matches of the first and third rounds. Their match against Scotland in the second round, scheduled for September last year was a wash out as they shared points. On the other hand, Nepal’s didn’t begin too well but they have got back on track after third round matches against Namibia at home. Against Namibia in April, Nepal won their first win of the championship. Looking at the past records both teams have won a match each in 50-over meetings. Nepal’s coach Jagata Tamata is hopeful of beating Netherlands. Khadka also believes it is time for his team to deliver. Meanwhile, according to the weather forecast heavy rain is expected to play spoilsport.
