During the 12th match of the qualifying round of the ICC World T20 2014 between Ireland and Netherlands, the latter team has broken the record of scoring most runs during the powerplay overs, by amassing 91 for the loss of one wicket, in their chase of 190.
The record was previously held by West Indies and Australia jointly. West Indies had amassed 83 in six overs against Australia in a T20I in 2009, and Australia had returned the favour in 2010.

Netherlands, who bowled first and conceded 189 to Ireland in the first innings, started their reply in tremendous fashion, scoring 91 of their powerplay overs, which included eight fours and right sixes.
