World T20: Netherlands make steady start

Mar 29, 2014
In the crucial Group 1 encounter of ICC World T20 2014 played between Netherlands and New Zealand at Chittagong, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. The big new was that Tim Southee being dropped from the side and the left-arm swing bowler, Trent Boult getting a chance.
Stephan Myburgh, by standing leg-side off the ball made a fine start for Netherlands. The left-handed batsman played a fine square-cut while up against the steady seamer, Kyle Mills. He was also looking to play straight down the ground of Mills’s bowling. It is clear that he is a fine striker off the ball.
Michael Swat on the other hand, played and missed a few deliveries, before playing a pull shot off Boult. Both New Zealand pacers were generally short. Boult, known for his ability to swing the ball late needed to pitch it up more. Up against a better side, it could have been worse for New Zealand.
