After the Twenty20 series against South Africa, the New Zealanders are taking some time off before the vital three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the same opponents. The official Twitter account of Black Caps shared a picture of a couple of Black Caps players posing with a Cheetah at Johannesburg. The snap that featured skipper Kane Williamson, Ish Sodhi, Jimmy Neesham, Luke Ronchi with their other teammates was captioned as, “The @BLACKCAPS enjoyed some downtime today at the Lion Park in Johannesburg. #SAvNZ.” READ: South Africa vs New Zealand 2015, 1st ODI Preview at Centurion

After being beaten in the opener T20, Williamson-led side came back strong at Centurion with a comfortable 32-run victory in the second game, thanks to Martin Guptil’s 50-ball 60 that fired the visitors to a competitive total of 177. The Proteas, who have had just one successful chase of 170+ runs, failed to repeat their all-round performance and let the Black Caps share the series win.
Meanwhile, the South Africans who lost the ODI series the last time they played the same opponents at home, will hope that their star batsman Faf du Plessis recovers soon and joins the squad for the upcoming three games. However, it appears unlikely to recover from the knee injury and could sit out the entire three-match series, which starts on Wednesday.
