Ahead of the Zimbabwe and Australia tours, New Zealand cricketers, except those playing in the upcoming Champions League T20 in India will take part in a pre-season training camp at Lincoln.

All cricketers with central contract including top 14 domestic players will take part in the camp, which will run from September 19 to 30th, and will cover all areas of preparation on and off the field.

New Zealand Cricket s director of cricket John Buchanan said, “It been a long time since the BLACKCAPS played international cricket and the fact we have a number of new support staff make it a very important camp.”

“Preparation for the tour of Zimbabwe will be the main focus but a range of benefits come from bringing together a large group of players. There will be a variety of conditioning and cricket activities including a number of limited over practice matches.”

“Players will also get the opportunity to work with specialists to help get them physically and mentally fit as they gear up for the summer ahead,” he added.

Martin Guptill, Chris Martin, Bruce Martin and Kyle Mills will join the camp if the Auckland Aces don’t go past the CLT20 qualifying matches held on September 19-21.
