Bangladesh managed to restrict New Zealand to 270 for 8 in Match 6 of the Ireland tri-nation series at Clontarf Cricket Ground Club, Dublin. Tom Latham and Neil Broom continued their impressive forms, scoring 84 and 63 respectively. However, it was late blitz from Ross Taylor (60*), which took New Zealand to a substantial score. Latham had an early escape when he was dropped on 0 by Nasir Hossain at square leg off Mashrafe Mortaza. He cashed in on that opportunity and went on to make 84. Luke Ronchi was dismissed early for just 2, after Mustafizur Rahman outfoxed him by taking the pace off the ball, resulting in a simple catch to Shakib-Al-Hasan at cover. Neil Broom continued his rich form in the series into the match as well. Live Cricket Scorecard: Bangladesh vs New Zealand Ireland tri-nation series, Match 6 at Dublin

He put on 133 for the second wicket with Latham, that put New Zealand in command. However, he too was given a chance after Soumya Sarkar dropped a difficult catch at deep square leg. But, New Zealand lost Latham and Broom in quick succession and needed a good partnership between Ross Taylor and Corey Anderson. They put on 41 for the fourth wicket, before Anderson hit one down the throat of deep backward square leg. From 208 for 3, New Zealand went through a bit of a collapse as they were reduced to 226 for 7 in the 44th over. Taylor however was busy at one end, but he was soon running out of partners. But Taylor soldiered on and brought up his fifty off 46 deliveries. With him at the crease, New Zealand would have felt that a score of around 270 was gettable. Bangladesh were a tad unlucky in the early stages as they dropped a few catches. However, they will be satisfied that they did not let the match slip away. However, there is still some turn for the spinners and movement for the pacers, which New Zealand might exploit to put Bangladesh under pressure.

Earlier, Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to field first. New Zealand made three changes to their side that beat Ireland. Jimmy Neesham, Hamish Bennett and Jeetan Patel were included in the side. This is Jeetan’s first match of the tournament. Bangladesh on the other hand included Nasir Hossain in place of Sunzamul Islam, who picked up a couple of wickets on debut in the previous match. This is the final international match for both teams before they head to England for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
