Bangladesh cricketers had a narrow escape on Friday during an attack on a Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. The cricketers were about to enter Masjid Al Noor before a deadly shooting unfolded.
Following the shocking turn of events, the cricket board of Bangladesh and New Zealand cricket teams mutually agreed to call off the third Test that was to begin at the Hagley Oval from Saturday.
Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim tweeted about the incident with local media claiming multiple people were killed.
Entire team got saved from active shooters!!! Frightening experience and please keep us in your prayers #christchurchMosqueAttack

While we are currently playing a Test match, the far bigger test for many today is in New Zealand.
From all within the cricket family in Ireland we're thinking of, and praying for, the victims, family, friends and community in Christchurch.#Christchurch #NewZealand

For so long I’ve watched world events from afar and naively thought we were somehow different in our little corner of the world, somehow safe. Today is a terrible day. Disgusted and saddened doesn’t begin to describe it.

This horrific incident is not the first to have impact a cricket match or a cricket tour.
