Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez have scored their respective half-centuries. The openers have gotten their teams off to a great start and look on course to set a platform from where the other batsmen can dominate. New Zealand are in pursuit of breaking this partnership and will have to do it very soon.

New Zealand scored 369 for five in their 50 overs thanks to fabulous centuries from Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor. Martin Guptill scored well-crafted 76 before he was caught in the deep in pursuit of some big runs. Taylor’s 12th ODI century was the 100th century for New Zealand in ODIs.

Earlier New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand got back Williamson, Tim Southee and Daniel Vettori back in the their side and Pakistan have changed an unchanged side from the first ODI at Wellington. New Zealand had won the first ODI at Wellington by seven wickets.  This is the last match either team will play ahead of ICC World Cup 2015, which starts on February 14.
