Martin Guptill has been dismissed for 76 off 88 balls and he looked set to get a big score. He pounced on a low full toss from Ahmed Shehzad but didn’t manage to clear the fence as he was caught in the deep by Bilawal Bhatti. Guptill stitched a 128-run stand for the second wicket along with Kane Williamson, who is batting past 50 himself.

Guptill opened the innings with skipper Brendon McCullum and put on 43 for the first wicket before McCullum was bowled by Shahid Afridi in the eighth over. Guptill has been in tremendous form over the last few months and he will be key in getting New Zealand off to a great start even at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Earlier New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand got back Williamson, Tim Southee and Daniel Vettori back in the their side and Pakistan have changed an unchanged side from the first ODI at Wellington. New Zealand had won the first ODI at Wellington by seven wickets.  This is the last match either team will play ahead of ICC World Cup 2015, which starts on February 14.
