New Zealand vs Pakistan, 2nd ODI at Napier: Mohammad Hafeez dismissed for 86

Mohammad Hafeez is out for 86 off 88 balls, bringing to end a wonderful innings by the opening batsman. This is a big blow for Pakistan as they would have wanted him to carry on get a big score. Adam Milne caught the ball in the deep to give Grant Elliot his first wicket of the match. Hafeez put on a 100-plus stand for the first wicket with Ahmed Shehzad but Pakistan have lost their way a little bit since Shehzad’s dismissal.

New Zealand have set a target of 370 for Pakistan after centuries from Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor. Taylor got his 12th One-Day International (ODI) century and his hundred was the 100th century in ODIs for New Zealand. Martin Guptill too made a significant contribution as he finished with 76, opening the batting with skipper Brendon McCullum

Earlier New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand got back Williamson, Tim Southee and Daniel Vettori back in the their side and Pakistan have changed an unchanged side from the first ODI at Wellington. New Zealand had won the first ODI at Wellington by seven wickets.  This is the last match either team will play ahead of ICC World Cup 2015, which starts on February 14.
