Pakistan have lost five wickets in a span of 54 runs as they have collapsed after the dismissal of Mohammad Hafeez for 86. Pakistan are chasing a target of 370 in their 50 overs and their openers had provided them with a good start. Openers Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez got half-centuries and gave Pakistan an outside chance to attain the target.

After a 111-run partnership, Pakistan have not managed to make good use of the start. Pakistan have lost wickets three to seven for just 54 runs and star batsmen like Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan haven’t made full use of this opportunity. Pakistan are in deep trouble now after Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor had scored brilliant centuries for the Kiwis that ensured that they finished at 396 for five. Nee Zealand have been on top ever since. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is the only player looking to hang around a bit and look for runs as well.

Earlier New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand got back Williamson, Tim Southee and Daniel Vettori back in the their side and Pakistan have changed an unchanged side from the first ODI at Wellington. New Zealand had won the first ODI at Wellington by seven wickets.  This is the last match either team will play ahead of ICC World Cup 2015, which starts on February 14.
