Matt Machan has scored a reassuring half-century for Scotland against New Zealand in their Pool A game at Dunedin. His effort has given Scotland a ray of hope after a dismal top order performance which saw Scotland reeling at 14 for four at one point. Live Score: New Zealand vs Scotland
Machan alongside Richard Berrington looked edgy early on but fought on and as the swing of the new ball wore off he grew in confidence. Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and they elected to take the field first on a pitch that had plenty of juice for the bowlers early on. New Zealand entered the match as overwhelming favourites and have lived up to the tag up to this point, however Scotland are starting to put them under some pressure now.
