New Zealand’s pace duo of Tim Southee and Trent Boult started very well, taking two wickets each within the fifth over early on, reducing Scotland to 14 for four before Machan and Berrington came to the crease and have been rather solid. Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and they elected to field first on a pitch that had plenty of juice for the bowlers initially, but has flattened out considerably after the shine of the ball has worn off.
