New Zealand batsman, Brendon McCullum scored his 29th half-century in ODIs against Sri Lanka during the first of the seven-match ODI series at the Hagley Oval in Chrsitchurch on Sunday. His half-century came off just 19 deliveries including six boundaries and three sixes with a strike rate of 231.81.

His last half-century came in December 2013 against West Indies at Auckland when he scored an unbeaten 51. Currently, he is batting along with his partner, Kane Williamson who is batting on 10 off 20 as New Zealand’s score reads 63 for the loss of two. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first as they set a target of 219 for New Zealand to win.
