The first day of the Boxing Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be held at Christchurch has been sold out.

According to a report in radionz.co.nz, a capacity crowd of almost 8000 spectators is expected to watch the the first day’s play. This will also be the first Boxing Day Test in New Zealand in a span of 11 years and Hagley Oval is also set to become eight Test venue in the country.

“This is another major step in the evolution of the ground and, while we envisage everything running smoothly, I’d ask that patrons bear with us as we navigate what should be a very memorable day,”said New Zealand Cricket’s GM Commercial, James Wear.
